Waypoint Bonus + Assist/Incident Beta Guide
Use this guide to train dispatchers and managers on the Slack commands now, before every daily report source is fully live. The goal is to learn where to ask for information, what the outputs mean, and what still requires admin review.
Quick Start for the Team
For beta training, dispatchers should practice in #waypoint-bonus with normal questions they will ask during operations.
Practice these first
Simple team explanation
“We are using #waypoint-bonus as the training lane. The active roster lookup is real/safe. Some bonus, assist, and incident examples may be beta/test/partial until the new daily reports are consistently filled out. Once those reports are flowing, these same commands will show live operational evidence.”
Use the Right Slack Channel
| Channel | Use it for | Do not use it for |
|---|---|---|
| #waypoint-bonus Team training + visibility | Bonus status, driver lookup, clean shift coaching view, assist stats, incident stats, command practice, safe manager summaries. | Raw incident details, payroll math, private IDs, final pay decisions. |
| #waypoint-incident-assist-log Assist / incident / closeout intake | Logging new assist/rescue events, incidents/exceptions, and daily/coverage closeouts for admin review. | Broad team stats questions or final payroll decisions. |
| #waypoint-bonus-calculator Private admin only | Approved-only review/handoff context for admin/calculator workflow. | Dispatcher training, generic help, or public bonus explanations. |
What Is Real vs Beta/Test Right Now
| Data area | Status during beta | How to explain it |
|---|---|---|
| Active roster lookup | Real/safe roster | Names/status/qualification-style lookup only. Private fields like phone, email, payroll IDs, and raw IDs stay out. |
| Clean Shift Bonus counts | Loaded evidence / source-dependent | Use to learn the output and review lane. If a driver shows pending, it may mean source evidence is missing, not driver fault. |
| Assist stats | Beta + approved test/live intake depending on records | Use /bonus assist stats in #waypoint-bonus to see aggregate assist totals/review status. |
| Incident stats | Beta + approved test/live intake depending on records | Use /bonus incident stats for safe summary counts, not raw incident text. |
| New daily reports | Becomes live source as forms are filled | Once dispatchers submit daily reports consistently, Waypoint will use the logged report evidence to update the same Slack outputs. |
| Payroll/final bonus pay | Not in Slack beta | Slack is eligibility/coaching/review. Admin/payroll confirms final private calculations separately. |

Assist, Incident, and Daily Report Flow
Where assist stats go
Assist summary stats go in #waypoint-bonus:
This is safe for training because it shows totals/status, not payroll math or raw private notes.
Where new assist/incident facts go
New operational facts should be logged in #waypoint-incident-assist-log for review:
How it becomes live
- Dispatchers submit daily reports and log assist/incident/closeout facts.
- Waypoint structures the data and flags anything missing for review.
- Managers/admins review and approve what should count.
- The same
/bonusSlack commands start reflecting the new logged report evidence.
Privacy + Payroll Rules
Allowed in Slack
- Driver name lookup
- Eligibility/coaching status
- Clean shift yes/no/pending counts
- Assist/incident aggregate stats
- Review lane: recognition, source review, admin review
Not allowed in Slack

- Raw sensitive incident text in broad channels
- Final pay approval from beta output alone
Manager Review Before Calculator / Payroll
Training and beta outputs are useful, but they are not final payroll approval. Anything that affects payout should go through review first.
